Preparing to Breastfeed Online Workshop
Preparing to Breastfeed Online Workshop
[parents-to-be] An online workshop for expectant parents to prepare for their breastfeeding journey
Service Description
We know that although most mothers plan to breastfeed their babies, the number of babies who are exclusively breastfeed at 6 months of age is much lower than expected. Breastfeeding knowledge, resources and support are vital for allowing parents to reach and surpass their breastfeeding goal. During this two hour workshop, we will explore evidence-based information and guidelines to help families to get off to a positive start breastfeeding/chestfeeding their baby. Specifically, we will discuss: - Baby's first feed and the early days - Lactation physiology and let down - Responsive feeding and hunger cues - Feeding positions and optimal latch - How to support a breastfeeding parent - Pumping and bottle feeding - How to manage feeding on demand By understanding breastfeeding basics, how to cope with challenges, and where to find support if needed, you can approach your breastfeeding journey with confidence! Parents-to-be are encouraged to join this workshop together as a couple.
