Service Description

One to one childbirth preparation support from an NCT (National Childbirth Trust, UK)-qualified Perinatal Educator and Breastfeeding Counsellor. The session will involve exploring any questions or thoughts that you might have about your upcoming labour and birth, and provide information to help you define your birth plan. I will listen to your concerns regarding the preparation for your baby's birth and reflect on what I hear in order to help you make more sense of your situation. We will discuss your personal circumstances which may impact your birth choices, and I will offer evidence-based information relevant to your circumstances, empowering you to make informed decisions regarding your care. We will work together to explore options in order to help you clarify and define your birth preferences. Discussion topics might include: - physiological labour and birth, and the role of hormones - pain management options, including self-help methods - positions for labour, breathing, massage and relaxation - interventions, such as induction of labour, assisted birth and Caesarean birth - postpartum recovery planning - the role of a birth partner and other sources of support - planning for life with a newborn - preparing for breast/chestfeeding while pregnant or expecting a baby Sessions can be provided in-person (at LilyBee in Zurich or Newborn Mums in Adliswil) or online. An initial consultation is charged at 125 CHF per hour-long session and in cases where subsequent sessions are needed, these are charged at 110 CHF per hour. Consultations which run beyond one hour are charged at 20 CHF per additional 10 minutes. Please ensure you select the correct location when booking your service, or choose the online option.
