Coping during Covid

How has the last year felt for you as a new parent?

What have you been missing out on?
And, what have you felt grateful for?

How have you coped with the various challenges that the global pandemic has thrown to us as parents?!

This past year has presented many challenges to society right across the globe. Everyone has felt the impact of the pandemic, regardless of who you are, where you live or what you do. It has been an especially difficult time for parents, and in particular, new parents, whose reality has, in many cases, been dramatically different to what they imagined early parenthood would be like.

This session will explore how it has felt to become a parent during the global pandemic, allowing mothers to share their thoughts and feelings with others who have had been through similar experiences. We will also consider how the Covid19-related restrictions have impacted the wider family, such as fathers/partners, grandparents and other extended family, as well as how it has been for your baby.

As with all Newborn Mums sessions, we will discuss mechanisms for coping with the various challenges of early parenthood, particularly in the midst of this global crisis. You will be able to share your own experiences within the supportive atmosphere of the group and be equipped with ideas for coping with the challenges of mothering during this time, both practically and emotionally.
"Come along and take care of Mum too!"
