Normal Infant Sleep Webinar
Normal Infant Sleep Webinar
[online] Join us to learn about normal infant sleep and how to cope with the challenges it presents
Service Description
This webinar has been designed to help parents, carers and parents-to-be better understand what 'normal' biological infant sleep looks like. We will discuss why it can be difficult to put a baby down to sleep and why babies are so content when they are held. Evidence-based information will be shared on how much babies should sleep and how day versus night sleep differs. We will also discuss how to cope with sleepless nights and also a few parenting 'hacks' for making the nights a bit easier. This workshop will aim to cover: - normal biological infant sleep - sleep hygiene and routines - 'gentle' parenting and how it relates to sleep - safe sleeping and bed-sharing - recognising tiredness cues - sleep culture and decision-making - attachment and responsive parenting - coping with sleeplessness The webinar is 1 hour long, which includes a presentation along with group discussion (a buffer of 15 minutes will be included for additional questions at the end). Partners and babies are also welcome to join! Please note that as a Holistic Sleep Coach, I am an advocate for responsive parenting and for supporting normal biological infant sleep. During this online workshop, you will not learn tools for teaching your baby to sleep through the night; rather, I aim to educate parents on how best to support infants in line with a gentle parenting approach, build empathy and an understanding of what is normal for babies and to help parents find ways to cope with sleeping challenges.
